The Montgomery Fire Department Color and Honor Guard was established in March 1999 by Assistant Fire Chief Kenneth Bolling, who was a Fire Academy Training Lieutenant at the time. Assistant Fire Chief Bolling also had assistance from an ROTC Student Officer from one of the local universities in our city.

Assistant Fire Chief Bolling recruited seven fellow co-workers from the department and together they devoted numerous hours of their time to refine their skills. The first participation was a Recruit School Graduation in January 2000, consisting of eight members. Over the past 10 years the Color and Honor Guard has grown significantly with all ranks represented.

Our Color and Honor Guard represents the Montgomery Fire Department at a variety of ceremonies. The Color and Honor Guard participate in Fire Academy Graduations, funerals, memorials, and other ceremonies. The Color and Honor Guard is dedicated to honoring fallen firefighters and retired department members. Our desire is to see that the highest honor is paid to our fallen brothers and sisters.
