What Does and Does Not Go In Your Curbside Bin 
The following items should NOT be placed in your curbside roll-out container. All of these items should be bagged and put in a box or other container and placed on your curb for pick up on your regular yard waste collection day: 

  • Green Waste and Yard Waste– Green waste refers to biodegradable waste (i.e. that can decompose naturally and organically) such as grass cuttings, hedge trimmings or other material. Yard waste refers to waste resulting from maintenance or removal of vegetation, including but not limited to: brush, branches, leaves, flowers, shrubs and small trees.
  • Paint Cans– all paints, even empty paint cans. *All paints must be dried out. No oil based or liquid paints can be accepted.
  • Tires– limited to 2 tires per week. 
  • Electronics– circuits or devices using transistors, microchips, and other components; basically, anything with a plug. (Electronics can be taken to McInnis Recycling Center for recycling. For more info on e-cycling, contact the Recycling Office at 625-2925.

These items can go in your curbside roll-out container for pickup on your regular garbage collection days:

  • Organic Waste – Vegetable peels, coffee grounds, egg shells, etc. Food Waste – Meat, fish, chicken, bones, leftovers, dairy products, etc.
  • All Paper – Newspaper, magazines, office paper, junk mail, etc.
  • Cardboard – Boxes, etc.
  • Plastic – All plastics
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Tin Cans
  • Plastic Bags
  • Glass
