About Us

The Berkeley Fire Department was established in 1904 and is said to have been the first motorized fire department in the western United States. The Berkeley Fire Department serves a densely populated eleven square miles that encompass the City of Berkeley.  The Berkeley Fire Department provides 24 hour response for emergencies. These emergencies can include fire suppression, medical emergencies, hazardous materials events, and other life threatening situations.
