Chris Conway
Chris Conway has been with the City of Montgomery since 2004. He serves as the Director of Public Works. He is a lifelong resident of Montgomery and feels very fortunate to work in the community in which he lives. Chris manages six areas that employ the majority of the City’s service-providing workforce, including the Street Maintenance Department, Sanitation Department, Engineering & Environmental Services Department, Inspections Department, Traffic Engineering Department and the 311 Call Center.

Chris has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Alabama. He began his public service career at the Alabama Department of Transportation where worked for 14 years, last serving as the Sixth Division Assistant Division Engineer for County Transportation. Chris is an active member of the American Public Works Association where he served on the Board of Directors for five years and served as President in 2010.

Chris and his wife Lori were married in 2002 and have three children, Claire, Chapel and Camp. His family and he are members of First Baptist Church on Perry Street. Chris’ hobbies include serving as a Division One college football official in the Sun Belt and Southeastern Conferences and as the Public Address announcer for Men’s Basketball at Auburn University.
